In a statement to the press, he has said that the committee headed by M.C. Nanaiah, former Law Minister, allowed journalists to be present at the hearing to which he had been summoned. On the other hand, the committee barred his advocates from appearing before it. Mr. Bhat, who had taken the issuance of notice of breach of privilege served on him up to the Supreme Court, has complained of discourtesy against the committee. He was not provided a seat on both days of the hearing (Friday and Saturday) though he is a senior citizen, he has said. Mr. Bhat walked out of the sitting on Saturday.
