Letters to the Editor
Sir, This is with reference to the Insight "Where do we draw the line?" (Dec. 28). Just because a section likes to watch skin show, can the media be left uncensored? Most films and television soaps depict women in a poor light. Where is the so-called "self censorship"? It is also seen that the authorities adopt different yardstick for different groups, and censorship is subject to the whims and fancies of the ruling elite.
P. Vidhyasagar,
Sir, It is true that artistic freedom should not be hampered in the name of censorship. People should be left to censor for themselves. But a filmmaker should remain an artist and should not cash in on the weaknesses of the public.
K. Aleen,
