Letters to the Editor
Sir, It is time to say goodbye to 2003. With the economy booming, the country has emerged as a global giant. Renewed ties between India and China were a step forward. An all in all a stupendous performance in all disciplines of sports and an equally confident entertainment business is making India shine. But the year will equally be remembered for a host of scams Telgi, Judeo, Jogi and CAT. Hopefully, 2004 will bring fonder moments and more reasons to smile and shine.
Pragyan Mohanty,
Sir, Yes, the economy is suddenly looking up, forex reserves have touched the $100 billion milestone. Well and good. But as pointed out in the article "Remember this?" (Dec. 28), India cannot shine when the dark stain of the Gujarat carnage remains unacknowledged and unaddressed.
