IDBI to raise funds through ECB

MUMBAI: Industrial Development Bank of India (IDBI) has received the nod from the Centre to raise $500 million through External Commercial Borrowings (ECB) which will be used to assist steel companies in restructuring their finances. Though the permission was valid for six months, the financial institution plans to tap the overseas market as quickly as possible.
