KSEB's new complaint recording system

By Our Staff Reporter

Thiruvananthapuram Dec. 30. The Kerala State Electricity Board is introducing a new telephone-based system for rectification of snags in power supply. The Electricity Minister, Kadavoor Sivadasan, announced here today that the new system would be introduced in Thiruvananthapuram from January 1.

Consumers can dial up the complaint cell telephone number 1912 and get their complaint recorded. A token number will be issued to the complainant. The KSEB will forward the complaint to the mobile squad by the short message service (SMS) immediately and get the problem rectified.

KSEB section offices and mobile squads will work in tandem. A control centre will be opened at the Power House in Thiruvananthapuram where operators will record the consumer number, section and the nature of the complaint. The centre will function round the clock. Mobile maintenance squads will also be equipped a shift system to operate 24 hours.

An official pressnote quoting the Minister said an Interactive Voice Response system would also be introduced from January 1. The section offices will continue to receive complaints directly from consumers. The old system will be continued for the benefit of consumers who do not have access to a telephone.

The pressnote said there would be no load-shedding on New Year eve.
