Judev tapes genuine, says forensic lab

New Delhi Dec. 30. The videotape showing the former Union Minister, Dilip Singh Judev, accepting cash has been found to be ``genuine'' and not doctored, as claimed by him, by the forensic science laboratory in Hyderabad. The laboratory said its report would ``provide extra clues'' to the Central Bureau of Investigation.

The Andhra Pradesh State Forensic Science Laboratory, in the report submitted to the CBI, said the video sequence of the tape has not been tampered with. ``There is continuity in the tape and lip synchronisation (of all characters in the tape) is also perfect,'' agency sources quoting the report said.

No picture has been super-imposed and those shown on the tape are ``genuine'', they said adding some editing has been done to hide certain faces.

The Director of the Laboratory, K.P.C. Gandhi, told PTI in Hyderabad that ``the report would provide extra clues to the investigating agency.''

Refusing to reveal the contents of the report, he said, ``we have submitted a conclusive report after going through all technical aspects and its revelation may hamper the investigations.''
