Special counters to clear greeting cards

By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD Dec. 30. To ensure that the New Year and Pongal greeting cards reach their destination in time, the A.P. Postal Circle has set up special counters in the 13 major post offices in the twin cities. The counters will undertake sale of postage stamps, collection of greeting cards and stamping.

The Director of Postal Services, M. Sampath, has requested people to handover greeting cards at these counters for prompt delivery and not to post them in letterboxes. While giving utmost priority to greeting cards, spot segregation at the posting stage, packing and immediate despatch is being taken up. A special greeting cards sorting centre has been set up on the Banjara Hills post office premises exclusively to segregate greeting mail received from other places for delivery in the twin cities, according to a press release. The special counters are located at the Hyderabad GPO in Abids, Jubilee HO, Secunderabad HO, Khairatabad HO, Jama-i-Osmania sorting office, Begum Bazar SO, Trimulgherry HO, Begumpet SO, Sanatnagar SO, Musheerabad SO, Kachiguda HO, Himayatnagar SO and Malakpet SO.
