Power tariff to continue

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM Dec. 31. The State Electricity Regulatory Commission has approved the Kerala State Electricity Board's request for the continuance of the existing power tariffs for the remaining months of this financial year.

The KSEB, in its first submission before the SERC in August 2003, had projected a gap of Rs. 942 crores between its income and expenditure during the current financial year, giving rise to the apprehension that a hike in tariffs will become necessary to bridge the deficit.
