Rs.1 lakh reward for clues in double murder case

HYDERABAD JAN. 1. The police on Thursday announced a reward of Rs. 1 lakh in cash to those providing information leading to the apprehension of the accused persons in the Saifabad double murder for gain case.

An industrialist, Ravi Maheswari, and his cook, Sampath Rao, were found murdered with their throats slit open in a flat on the third floor of Mount Nazir Apartments, near Ravindra Bharathi, on December 23 last.

The Police Commissioner, R.P. Singh, in a press release, assured that identity of informants would be kept secret. People could pass on information on telephone numbers 94400-55512, 27852251, 23261166 or 27852333.

10 two-wheelers lifted

In another case a total of 10 two-wheelers were stolen in different parts of the city on Wednesday night.

The police, however, ruled out the possibility of a single gang lifting the vehicles. The cases are under investigation.
