The company, which registered a record turnover of Rs. 500 crores last fiscal, has charted out the modernisation plan to enhance its production capacity and upgrade facilities while aiming to exceed a total business volume of Rs. 750 crores during next three-four years. "We have earmarked an investment of Rs. 90 crores from internal accruals while Rs. 180 crores would be extended by the Ministry of Defence through Indian Navy for 2003-04 to 2006-07," GRSE Chairman-cum-Managing Director, R. Paralikar, said today. The company, he said, had also decided to appoint a consultant for the second phase of the modernisation project. "We have already shortlisted the names and will appoint a consultant by this month". Besides, the company was looking for business partners in areas such as designing, hull fabrication, plumbing, electrical cabling, air conditioning and insulation. The modernisation project would include creation of new hull shop, augmentation of berth facilities, increase block lifting and crane capacity and installation of ship lift system, he said. PTI
