Ranbir Sena kills five Dalits

By K. Balchand

PATNA Jan. 3. The banned private army of feudal landlords, the Ranbir Sena, shot dead five Dalits and injured two, all said to be supporters of the ultra left, PWG, in Pariyari village under Kinjar police station of Arwal district early this morning.

According to the Director-General of Police, W.H. Khan, a group of marauders swooped down on the village and fired indiscriminately on those enjoying the warmth of a bonfire to beat the biting cold, killing three members of the Paswan community and two Gadarias, an extremely backward caste.

The two injured have been admitted to the Patna Medical College Hospital.

Senior police officials have rushed to the spot to supervise the combing operations to nab the killers. No arrests have been made so far.

This is the second carnage carried out by the Ranbir Sena in less than 10 days, having killed three people in neighbouring Jehanabad district in the third week of December.
