Trailing by a goal till the last two minutes of the regulation time, last year's runner-up, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, was lucky to find the equaliser for taking the game to extra time and to tie-breaker, and eventually downed Kerala University 4-2. Akila scored for Kerala while Baljeet Kaur equalised in the dying moments of regular time for GNDU. In the tie-breaker, Sugan Deep, Meena and Mantreeth scored for GNDU and Akila only succeeded for Kerala. Kurukshetra University made its exit from the tournament, going down to Mysore 1-2. Manavattira S. Sheelavathy, Veena scored for Mysore, while Sunitha scored for Kurukshetra. In the last quarterfinals match, MJP Rohilkhand University, Bareilly, beat Panjabi University, Patiala, 3-0. Manjuri opened the account for MJPR in the 39th minute and Seethal and Poonamsingh scored the second and third in the 53rd and 56th minutes.
