The decision to rent out the flats came in the wake of the Board's move to auction its flats, houses and plots all over the State. As many as eight flats on T.D. Road in the heart of the city had been sold on the inaugural day of auctioning. If the remaining six flats are not sold in the next round of auctioning before February end, they will be available on rent, said KSHB officials. The Board is planning to sell 224 plots, 580 villas and 187 flats through auctions within two months. All these properties will be available for rent if they are not sold. According to the officials, the property is being rented out to standardise the accommodation for the occupants. No flat will be rented out for commercial purpose, they said. Meanwhile, the Board has postponed the proposed auction of its properties in Pathanamthitta, Kuruva (Kannur), Edappally and Vadakara for a day owing to the proposed motor strike on Tuesday. The auctions, scheduled for January 6, will now take place on January 7 at the same place and time.
