Pampa Sangamam from today

PATHANAMTHITTA JAN. 4. Pampa Sangamam, the three-day annual cultural festival organised by the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) at the Pampa Ganapathi Temple premises, will begin tomorrow.

The Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, O.Rajagopal, will inaugurate the festival at the Pampa Anjaneya Auditorium at 5 pm.

The TDB president, N. Babu, will preside over the inaugural function. Dr. M. Sambasivan of the Kottayam Medical College will deliver the keynote address.

The Akhila Bharatha Ayyappa Seva Sanghom president, Thennala Balakrishna Pillai, MP, will be the chief guest. Mr Francis George, MP, Mr Raju Abraham, MLA and the district panchayat president, Mathew Kulathumkal, will also address the inaugural function.

The cultural meet to be held on January 6 afternoon will be inaugurated by the Transport Minister, R. Balakrishna Pillai. The Tamil Nadu Health Minister, Dalawai Sundaram, will be chief guest. Swami Sookshmananda of the Sivagiri Madhom will deliver the keynote address.

Dr. P.Chandramohan, Dr. Madhavan Nair, Prof Thakazhi Sankaranarayanan, Dr. P.Venugopal, Mr. C.Thulaseedharan Nair and Mr. V.P. Jayachandran will also address the cultural meet.

A devotional music concert by Mr. Nikhil Krishna and a violin concert by Balabhaskar will also be held, later in the evening.

The Cultural Affairs Minister, G. Karthikeyan, will inaugurate the valedictory meet to be presided by Dr. N. Babu at 5 pm on January 7.

The cine artiste, Jayaram, will be the chief guest and the Cochin Devaswom Board president, T.K.Vijayaraghavan, will deliver the keynote address.

Dr. P.K. Subhash, D.Vinayachandran and the TDB secretary, S.Ushakumari, will also address the meet.

The Special Commissioner appointed by the Kerala High Court, D. Sreevallabhan, and the former TDB members, D.Sasidharan, and Charupara Ravi will be honoured at the function.

Mr. Jayaram and 40 artistes will perform a Thayambaka, later in the evening.
