SARS case in China

SINGAPORE Jan. 5. The solitary case of suspected Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) in China has been confirmed, according to the Ministry of Health in Beijing today.

The patient was in "a stable condition with normal temperature''.

All those who had come into contact with the patient in the s Guangdong province were said to be under observation.

The case was the first in China since the disease was contained last June. The case was also examined by two networked laboratories of the WHO.
