Gold at new high

New Delhi Jan. 5 Aggressive buying by stockists and jewellery manufacturers kicked off gold to touch an all-time high of Rs. 6,280 per 10 grams on the bullion market today backed by a sharp rise in its prices in the international markets but fell short of some offering to end at Rs. 6,230.

The demand for the yellow metal increased after reports of it climbing to a 14-year high of $418 an ounce in early trading in other Asian markets and quoted at Rs. 6,280 per 10 grams during the day. — PTI
