dated January 7, 1954: Kashmir's Accession to India is Final

Yuvaraj Karan Singh, Sadar-i-Riyasat of Jammu and Kashmir, said in Pathankot that Kashmir's accession to India was complete and final. On proposed American military aid to Pakistan, he said India had to deal effectively with the threat. If Pakistan ventured to attack Kashmir or India, every Kashmiri would fight defending to the last. Saying the Bakshi Government had done commendable work for betterment, Karan Singh said the Delhi agreement would be incorporated in the State's Constitution in the session of the State legislature due to begin in February.
