Letters to the Editor
Sir, This refers to the Insight, "Can we do without politicians?" (Jan. 4). In a parliamentary democracy, only a system involving and caring for common people can exist and certainly it is the politician's, not the bureaucrat's or businessman's, job to carry out this duty. J.M. Lyngdoh's views cannot be shared as we cannot clean the system by removing politicians from the scene. We can get rid of corruption by institutional reform. V.N. Jha, Chennai
