Anti-consumer

Sir, — The introduction of the Conditional Access System has benefited only cable operators. In case the Government wants to continue with CAS, it should regulate the advertisements. It should bring in legislation to prohibit advertisements in pay channels, as is done in some of the Western nations.

The public is compelled to spend more time watching advertisements than the actual programme for which they have paid.
