Addressing a press conference after a meeting of the party's state executive committee and district unit presidents yesterday, he alleged that `false cases' were being registered against innocents, including several political opponents of the Haryana Chief Minister, Om Prakash Chautala, and some media persons. The government officials responsible for registration of such cases would be sternly dealt with if HVP government came to power in Haryana after Assembly elections in 2005, he warned. The former Defence Minister also expressed serious concern over ``worsening'' law and order situation in the state. Criminals were ruling the roost while common people were feeling insecure under the present regime, he alleged. The state executive committee at its meeting decided to organise a rally at Jind on February 29 next, Lal said. He said party secretary general Surender Singh would undertake an extensive tour of the state from January 20 to mobilise people for participation in the rally. -- PTI
