Protest march planned

KOTTAYAM jan. 6. The Kottayam-Erumeli Railway Virudha Samara Samithy would hold a protest march to the district collectorate on January 9. According to its convener, N. N. Karunakaran Pillai, the samithy activists would hold talks with people's representatives and railway officials.

Passbook verification

The Kerala Karshaka Thozhilali Welfare Fund officer would hold sittings at Erumeli, Vaikom, Mundakkayam, Akalakunnam and Veloor panchayats between January 8 and 14 for the verification of passbooks of members, according to a press release.

Water bill payment

The last date for payment of water bill arrears under the Kottayam PH Subdivision of the Kerala Water Authority is January 15, according to a press release. The panchayats coming under the subdivision are: Vijayapuram, Panachikkad, Nattakom, Kumaranallore, Ayarkunnam, Pampady, Meenadom, Kooroppada, Ettumanur, Neendur, Arpookkara, Kanakkari, Manjoor, Manarkadu and Athirampuzha.

Pianist honoured

KOZHIKODE JAN. 6. The piano maestro, Lancelot Thomas, was honoured at a function held here on the occasion of the 55th anniversary celebrations of the Brothers Music Club at the Ahirvad lawns here on Sunday last.
