By Our Special Correspondent
CHENNAI
JAN. 6.
The Janata Party president, Subramanian Swamy, today met the Defence Minister, George Fernandes, at his South Block office in New Delhi and raised with him the issue of activities of the Sea Tigers in the Palk Strait.
In a statement, Dr. Swamy said that he had told Mr. Fernandes that before India responded favourably to any Sri Lankan request for Indian armed forces assistance to meet the threat from the LTTE, the Indian forces must first establish a cantonment base in Colombo consisting of two divisions of the Army and three squadrons of the Air Force.
