Formidables takes top spot in Gr. A

Aurangabad Jan. 6 At the end of the first phase of the contest for the Ruia Trophy in the bridge championship, the number of contesting teams were reduced from 156 to only 24 (First 12 teams in the order of merit from each group) which qualified for the prequarterfinal at the end of qualifying SWISS Large matches.

In group `A' the top spot was taken by Formidables from Delhi represented by Mrs. Kiran Nadar , Subash Gupta, K.R.Venkatraman, Sumit Choksi and B. Satyanarayana . The team collected 317 V.P.

The top team in group `B' was Tolani Shipping from Mumbai represented by R.A. Agarwal, G. Biswas, A. Sequeira, R. Bhiwandkar , M.Jagannath and Arvind Vaidya
