No power

COIMBATORE Jan. 6 . There will be no power supply in the following places on January 9 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. owing to shutdown of Irugur sub-station for maintenance work:

Irugur, Ondipudur, Odderpalayam, Uppilipalayam, Mayilampatty, Kalapatty (one region), Pallapalayam (one region), Vellanapatty (one region), Kannampalayam (one region), Nellikanampalayam and Nehru Nagar.

Grievances day

The Superintending Engineer of TNEB Coimbatore South will conduct a grievances day meeting at 11 a.m. on January 7 at the office of the Executive Engineer, Kuniamuthur, said a release.

Postponed

The district administration has informed the postponement of the issue of certificates of patta transfer scheduled for January 9 and 10 has been postponed to January 22 and 23. According to a release, the transfer would be made on the petitions received at two special camps on these two days.

Redressal week

A special complaints court, `Shikayat Adalat', will be held at the sub-regional office of the Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESI) here on January 21 as part of the `Public Grievance Redressal Week' to be observed by the ESI across the country from January 19 to 23. According to a release, the adalat will also be held at all the 21 branch offices of the ESI Corporation under the Coimbatore Sub-Region on January 19. The intending beneficiaries could approach respective branch managers or R. Mohan Kumar, Deputy Director (PR), Sub-Regional Office, Coimbatore, to register complaints/grievances (Ph: 0422 - 2236226).

Polio drops

Ellen Hospital will administer free polio drops to children all through the year, according to a release. Free polio drops were administered to children on January 4 and 5 at the hospital.

Accreditation

The National Board of Accreditation has accredited the following departments of the Park College of Engineering and Technology:

Department of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Aeronautical Engineering and the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
