`Amrutha Dhara Goshala' to be opened
BANGALORE
JAN. 6.
Raghaveshwara Bharathi Swamiji of Sri Ramachandrapura Math has launched a scheme titled "Kamadugha" to "identify, conserve, nourish, and promote" Indian breeds of cows in goshalas.
As part of the project, an "Amrutha Dhara Goshala" will be inaugurated at Kaggalipura near Bangalore on January 13.
The goshala, according to a statement from the math, was being set up on a two-acre plot donated by a devotee. The project was estimated to cost Rs. 50 lakh, and would give shelter to 65 cows, calves, and bulls.
Besides, model goshalas would be opened at various centres in Karnataka and other States where a good number of Indian breeds of cows were reared, the release said. "Research will be conducted on the possibilities of developing medicines from the urine of cow. It has already been proved that a few varieties of Indian cows' urine can cure cancer," the release said.
