Inamdar to open `MEPEX 2004'

BANGALORE JAN. 6. "MEPEX 2004", a mechanical, electrical, and plumbing exhibition, will be inaugurated by the Minister for Information Technology and Biotechnology, D.B. Inamdar, on Thursday at Palace Grounds here. The Minister of State for Energy, Basavaraj H. Patil, is expected to participate as the guest of honour.

The president of the Electrical Consultants' Association, B.K. Charan Dev, told presspersons that the event would spread the message of safe handling of electrical appliances by people.

Jayashree Umesh, organising secretary, MEPEX 2004, said the State Department of Electrical Inspectorate would put up a stall at the exhibition, along with those by leading manufacturers of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment.

Seminars on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing topics would be held at Satish Dhawan auditorium on the IISc. campus. U.R. Rao, eminent scientist, would inaugurate the seminars on Friday, she said.

MEPEX was sponsored by Anchor Electronics and Electricals, Havell's India, Controls and Switchgear Ltd., Schneider Electric India, Ravin Cables, ATCO Controls, Firepro, LegrandRavin Cables, Larsen and Toubro, and ABB Ltd.
