He told presspersons here on Tuesday that at present, only 70 per cent of the pathways had been paved. All parts of the city would have water supply and sanitation facility by the yearend, he said.
With regard to the construction of a flyover near National College, the Minister said the flyover would be opened to traffic by the end of the year.
"Despite resistance by the residents, the flyover is being constructed to cope with the increased vehicular traffic in that area," Mr. Reddy said.
Asked about a multi-facility cultural centre being constructed by the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike on Mysore Anantaswamy Road, the Minister said the centre would be operational by the end of March.
On the absence of market places in the Gandhinagar area, Mr. Reddy said a decision in this regard would be taken in the Cabinet meeting. Mr. Reddy said the Government had identified 144 areas in the city to develop playgrounds.
