This Day That Age
Mr. Mohammad Ali, Pakistan Finance Minister, said on the 6th at a Press conference on his arrival in Sydney for the Commonwealth Finance Ministers' meet, that reports suggesting a military alliance between Pakistan and the U.S. were not true. "The facts are not as sensational as made out. It is true informal conversations have taken place about military aid being granted to Pakistan by the United States. That is a form of economic aid. It will be in the form of military equipment which will enable us to use more of our resources for the development plan on which we are embarked. I do not know what all the fuss is about. Pakistan is keen on staying within the Commonwealth," he explained.
