Anand confers with officials on facilities at rly. stations
TIRUCHI

. The Southern Railway General Manager, V. Anand, today inspected various railway stations as part of his annual inspection in the Tiruchi-Villupuram broad gauge section.
Along with the Commissioner of Railway Safety, Pranab Kumar Sen, and top officials including the Chief Operations Manager, P. Sudhakar, Chief Safety Officer, J.D. Goswami, Chief Commercial Manager, Thomas Varghese, and Tiruchi Divisional Railway Manager, N.S. Kasturirangan, he arrived at the Srirangam railway station first and inspected the ticket counter, station master's room and retiring room. He held discussions with officials regarding sanitary conditions at the stations and steps to improve the facilities there.
He also inspected a few other stations in the Tiruchi-Villupuram section including Kallakudi Palanganatham, Ariyalur etc.
According to sources, Mr. Anand interacted with the railway staff, a few retired railway employees and the public. He received representations and memorandums from the public at these stations.
Mr. Anand also inspected the Marudaiyaru bridge near Ariyalur in Perambalur district for about 40 minutes and held discussions with the railway engineering personnel.
He also interacted with the gangmen to ascertain their grievances, if any.
The Railway Protection Force IG and Chief Security Commissioner, K.S. Balasubramanian, accompanied him.
