`Vajpayee should not flip-flop further on Pakistan'

By Our Special Correspondent

CHENNAI JAN. 7. The Janata Party president, Subramanian Swamy, today said India cannot let its guard down on terrorist activity in Kashmir while improving relations with Pakistan.

In a statement, he said the Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, should not flip-flop any further on Pakistan. He expressed hope that Mr. Vajpayee would not keep the nation in the dark "as he did on the Kargil infiltration." He claimed that the thaw in the Indo-Pakistan relations began with his visit to Pakistan when on his urging, the Pakistan President, Pervez Musharaff, "agreed to take some conciliatory steps such as releasing from Pakistani prisons 400 Gujarati fishermen and 22 Sikh youths."
