Rajasthan to take back cases against Govt. staff

By Our Special Correspondent

JAIPUR JAN. 7 .The Rajasthan Government has decided to take back the cases pending against the State employees in various courts. The decision followed a meeting between the Chief Minister, Vasundhara Raje and the president of the All Rajasthan State Employees Joint Confederation(United), Hanuman Singh.

The decision has come as a New Year gift to the State Government employees who had a bitter relationship with the previous Congress Government. Most of the cases had been registered during the prolonged strike by the employees.

The Bharatiya Janata Party, while in the Opposition had promised various incentives to the employees in the State including payment of salaries for the two-month strike period. Only a day back the Rajasthan Cabinet had taken a decision to lift the existing ban on recruitments in the State.

The Government sources here said 40 out of the 43 pending cases against the employees would be withdrawn immediately while a decision would be taken on the remaining after examining the details. Various employees' unions welcoming the decision have thanked the Chief Minister.
