Shiv Sena rules out alliance with NCP

Mumbai Jan. 7. The Shiv Sena, a major partner in the BJP-led coalition Government at the Centre, tonight ruled out any alliance with the Sharad Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), puncturing the prospect of an NDA-NCP alliance for the 2004 Lok Sabha elections.

Emerging out of a two-hour meeting of senior Sena leaders here, the Opposition leader in the Maharashtra Assembly, Narayan Rane, told reporters that the Sena would not have any electoral alliance with the NCP. — UNI
