Cuddalore
By Our Special Correspondent
CUDDALORE, JAN. 8. The Cuddalore Collector, Gagandeep Singh Bedi, has ordered officials to take appropriate action against the assistant executive engineer and the union engineer for their failure to procure blue metals of right size for the construction of road at Ayikuppam village near here. The Collector who inspected today the road-laying work there found the blue metals oversized and took the officials to task for not adhering to the stipulations. He directed the officials to replace the blue metals with the ones of specified size. Mr Bedi instructed the local bodies at Ayikuppam and Agaram to meet the expenditure on providing water facility to the two sanitary complexes built in the villages from their general funds, and draw money from the savings for laying roads to these complexes. The Collector told the officials to complete the works on the office of the Agaram Village Adminitrative Officer, being built from the MLA's constitutuency development fund, and the road at Kothavacheri village by month-end.
