NEW DELHI, JAN. 8. Yogendra Kr. Modi has taken over as President of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). He assumed the office of the President of FICCI at the conclusion of the 76th annual session of FICCI here today. Mr. Modi is the Chairman of YKM Holdings, a leading business group of India. He is also Chairman of Great Eastern Energy Corporation, which is Asia's largest unit in commercial exploitation of coal bed methane. Mr. Modi is a member of the Dean's Council at the John F Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, U.S. Onkar S. Kanwar has become the Sr. Vice President of FICCI. Mr. Kanwar is the Chairman, MD and CEO of Apollo Tyres. Meanwhile, Saroj K. Poddar, Chairman of Poddar Heritage Enterprises, has been unanimously elected Vice-President of FICCI for 2004-05.
