Dry weather over Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI, JAN. 8. The northeast monsoon rains have ceased over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Kerala, adjoining areas of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.

Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu and dry weather prevailed over Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Sengottai (Thirunelveli dt.) recorded 3 cm rainfall.

The minimum temperature fell appreciably to markedly at one two places over Rayalaseema, north coastal Tamil Nadu, fell at one or two places over south interior Karnataka, north interior Tamil Nadu, Kerala, rose at a few places over coastal Karnataka and changed a little elsewhere over the region.

They were appreciably below normal at one or two places over Telangana, north Coastal Tamil Nadu, below normal at one or two places over coastal Andhra Pradesh, south Kerala, above normal at one or two places over north interior Karnataka and were generally normal over the rest of the region.

FORECAST (Valid until Saturday morning): Mainly dry weather will prevail over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Farmers Weather Bulletin for Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry Forecast (Valid until the morning of 10th January 2004): Mainly sunny weather will prevail over Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.
