Panel discusses UGC directive

By Our Staff Reporter

KOCHI, JAN. 8. A meeting of the Syndicate sub-committee on academic affairs of the Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) held here today discussed the directive by the University Grants Commission to all universities in the country not to conduct its own entrance tests for admission to professional courses.

The meeting convened by the Vice-Chancellor also discussed the UGC's directive not to admit students into the State-wise quota category.

The UGC had sent a circular to all universities saying that admissions on a national basis to specified professional programmes for the year 2004-'05 would be made on the basis of merit determined through a common entrance test.
