ANANTAPUR, JAN. 9. The Minister for Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development, N. Kistappa, has called upon youth to take up sports for their physical and personality development. He was inaugurating the four-day 25th AP junior inter-district volleyball championships for boys and girls at the Arts College (exhibition) grounds here today by releasing a pigeon. Mr Kistappa said sports and games not only provide relaxation but also help maintain a healthy body. The District Collector, Y.V. Anuradha, said the volleyball tourney had given a festive atmosphere to the district headquarters. Given opportunities, the administration is ready to host several such competitions, she said. The DIG of police (Anantapur Range), Dwaraka Tirumala Rao, the Joint Collector, Shashibhushan Kumar, the District Revenue Officer, V. Mohan Rao, the District Sports Development Officer, C.L.N. Reddy, the president of AP Volleyball Association, S. Kodanda Ramaiah, and others spoke.
