KOZHIKODE, JAN. 9. The `Fourth World' concept put forward by the Kerala Sastra Sahitya Parishad (KSSP) ideologue, M.P. Parameswaran, is an attempt to establish that in the new economic scenario, there is no class struggle in the State, the CPI(M) politburo member, E. Balanandan, has said. He was speaking after releasing the books, `Adhiniveshathinte Dallalar' (Agents of Colonalism) and `Upajapa Samrajathvam Samakalika Anubhavangal' (Conspirator Imperialism Contemporary Experiences) brought out by Left Views here today. Referring to Mr. Parameswaran's theory of the `Fourth World' concept, Mr. Balanandan said the former had denounced capitalism and communism in favour of the concept. "But ideologically, it is capitalism. The observation is that the world labour class no longer possesses the power to resist the forces of capitalism. Also, the observation is that the new labour scenario demands very little labour in the real sense and hence there is little scope for class struggle. But the premise (of Mr.Parameswaran), that revolution will not occur in the world, should be opposed by every progressive person,'' Mr. Balanandan said. He said those who propagated the idea that teachers and Government servants were drawing hefty sum as salaries were trying to establish that class struggle was not possible in the land of ``EMS and Krishnapillai''. Stating that lessons were needed to counter the methods employed by imperialism, Mr. Balanandan said that the people were demanding an alternative to globalisation. He said there was no need to feel aggrieved over the controversies now hogging the party.
