BANGALORE, JAN. 9. The Bangalore city police have arrested one more person in connection with the murder of Tommy (25), a van driver from Dharmasthala in Dakshina Kannada district. The murder was reportedly committed at Chikkasandra here on December 25. The police gave the name of the arrested as Anish (25) of R.T. Nagar. Tommy was allegedly stabbed by his friends, Joseph and Anish, at a Christmas party at Chokkasandra. Police arrested Joseph the day after the murder. A police team, which had information that Anish was in Kerala, went to that State to arrest him.
Theft charge
Peenya police arrested two persons for allegedly stealing spare parts of autorickshaws here on Wednesday. The names of the accused were given as Ranjit (21) and Arun (19) from Nagasandra. Police alleged that they had stolen autorickshaw spare parts from T. Dasarahalli, Bagalagunte, and surrounding areas. They reportedly recovered 12 autorickshaw tyres worth Rs. 50,000 and five gas cylinders. Police claimed that with the arrest of Ranjit and Arun, they had solved eight cases of theft.
Woman robbed
Two persons, who pretending to be searching for accommodation in Motinagar in J.C. Nagar police station limits, entered a house, bound a woman, and took away her gold chain worth Rs. 20,000 on Thursday night. According to police, the two persons came to a house of a barber and asked his wife, Anita, whether a portion of the house was to be given on rent. When she opened the door, the robbers entered the house and bound her. They took away a gold chain worn by Ms. Anita, police said.
Cell phone stolen
A bracelet and a mobile phone valued at Rs. 12,000 were stolen from a house in Banasawadi on Thursday night. According to police, the burglars took the valuables through a window of the house of Feroz Khan, a graphic designer.
