KOLKATA, JAN. 10 .The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation will start off-shore drilling operations in the Bay of Bengal off West Bengal's Sunderbans islands. Work was to begin in 4-6 months, ONGC, Chairman, Subir Raha, said here on Friday. It had been decided that four holes would be drilled in the Bay of Bengal spanning an expanse of 6,700 sq km. The operations would cost Rs. 400 crores. Tenders had already been floated for the rigs. Mr. Raha discussed the project with the Chief Minister, Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee.
