PATNA, JAN. 10. The Congress Ministers are up in arms against their State unit chief, Ram Jatan Sinha. About half-a-dozen Ministers seem to nurture a grudge against him and on their request, the Congress Legislature Party leader, Vijay Shanker Dubey, who is also a Cabinet Minister, held a meeting which authorised Mr. Dubey to take up their grievance with the central leadership. Mr. Dubey on his part admitted that there were differences within the party but described them as internal affairs, which would be sorted out easily without harming the unity of the party. He appreciated the efforts of the Congress president, Sonia Gandhi, in uniting the secular forces and the follow-up action being initiated by the State unit leadership. The Ministers were upset the way Mr. Sinha was conducting the party, holding meetings and "padyatras" in their constituencies "without taking them into confidence." The Minister of State for Jail, Ashok Chaudhary, is said to have taken exception to the programme that Mr. Sinha held in his Assembly constituency, Barbigha, without taking him into confidence. He was reported to have accused Mr. Sinha of campaigning against him.
