PM briefs President on Islamabad visit

NEW DELHI,
JAN. 10
. The Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, today briefed the President, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, about his visit to Islamabad where the 12th South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation summit was held. Mr. Vajpayee also apprised Mr. Kalam about his meetings with the Pakistani leadership, including the Pakistan President and the Prime Minister, and the initiatives taken to carry forward the peace process in the region.
During the luncheon meeting at the Rashtrapati Bhavan lasting 70 minutes, the two leaders also discussed other issues of national and international importance, a Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesman said here.
