RAJAHMUNDRY, JAN. 10. The Congress has issued show-cause notices to party leaders -- Guttula Suryanarayana and Geddam Rama Rao - and sought clarifications from two others. The District Congress Committee president, Jakkampudi Ramamohana Rao, said notices were served on Mr. Suryanarayana had declared himself a `candidate' for the coming elections and on Mr. Rama Rao for his alleged outburst against other castes. Mr. Suryanarayana, an aspirant for the Ramachandrapuram Assembly seat, said he would soon be coming to people as a `candidate' for the third time -- he was defeated twice. It amounted to declaring himself a party candidate, Mr. Ramamohana Rao said. Mr. Rama Rao, aspirant for the Nagaram assembly segment, was issued show-cause notice for his criticism of other castes in the Nagaram segment, reserved for Scheduled Castes. Clarifications were sought from two senior leaders -- Gollapalli Surya Rao, floor leader in the Zilla Parishad and K.S.R. Murthy, former MP. Both leaders were strong contenders for the Allavaram Assembly segment (SC reserved). Mr. Ramamohana Rao said the Pradesh Congress Committee coordinators for the district -- Botsa Satyanarayana and Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu -- would organise meetings with here on January 13.
