RAJAHMUNDRY, JAN. 10. Mystery shrouds the `letters and phone calls in the name of CPI (ML) People's War East Divisional Committee' to the TDP leader and MLA in the recently-dissolved Assembly, Chelli Vivekananda (Mummidivaram). The last letter, addressed to the party office in Mummidivaram and reportedly posted at Samlkota, came on Friday. The letter had sought support to the revolution - Udyamam -- failing which, it said, there would be one more `Alipiri' in Mummidivaram. The letter was handed over to the police. It was on January 1 that the former MLA received a `threat letter' through a private courier service from Anakapalli. This was followed by phone calls through cell phones. While one letter was signed by `Ramakrishna', the other was by `Balakrishna'. According to Mr.Vivekananda, the response to his questions on the phone were not clear. On receipt of the first letter and information from Mr.Vivekananda, police bandobust was arranged at the house of Mr.Vivekananda in Pathainjaram village, but it was later withdrawn. Mr. Vivekananda feels that the letters and phone calls were the handiwork of some `pseudo naxalites'. However, the police were looking into the issue from all angles including keeping a watch on the phone calls received by Mr.Vivekananda.
