CHENNAI, JAN. 10. Two men died last night after they consumed ethylene glycol, which they picked up from a train at the Central railway station on Thursday. Railway police identified them as S. Muthu (30) and A. Mani (50). They were employed as contract labourers to clean compartments of express trains at the station. On Thursday, the men were cleaning the compartments of the Charminar Express that arrived at 11 a.m. Muthu found a two-litre plastic can containing the liquid. Mistaking it for liquor, Muthu and Mani consumed it along with Ravi, Guna and Sadasivam. The men, who began to vomit, admitted themselves to the Government General Hospital. Post-mortem tests revealed that the men had consumed ethylene glycol.
