CHENNAI, JAN.10. The Janata Party president, Subramanian Swamy, today demanded the arrest of the Dravida Kazhagam leader, K. Veeramani, under the Prevention of Terrorism Act for fabricating a photograph which showed him along with a "proclaimed offender", Ravi of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) during the previous AIADMK regime. Dr. Swamy appealed to the Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, to "take steps to arrest the DK leader before January 26," failing which, he said, he would file a petition in a Tiruchi court against both Mr. Veeramani and the Chief Minister in connection with the photograph episode. He said Ravi recently made a confessional statement in the court that the episode was instigated by the DK leader. The photograph showing him along with the LTTE functionary was established to be forged in a police forensic investigation report, said Dr. Swamy.
