Thiruvananthapuram
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, JAN. 10. The three-day Thiruvananthapuram Revenue District School Youth Festival will begin at the Manacaud VHSS on January 12. As many as 2,980 students from 140 schools in the district will be competing in as many as 70 events to be held in seven different venues in the three day festival. The festival will commence with a pageantry from the SMV High School on January 12, which will conclude at the Manacaud VHSS. The Education Minister, Nalakath Soopy, will inaugurate the festival. The Cooperation Minister, M.V. Raghavan, will be the chief guest at the valedictory function to be held on January 14. In addition to the youth festival, the Samskrithotsavam, Pre-Primary Teachers Training Institute (PPTTI) and Teachers Training Institute (TTI) Kalotsavams will be held at the same venue. The Arabic Sahithyotsavam will be held for the first time with the youth festival this time.
