Aluva lifts overall championship

KOCHI, JAN. 10. The Aluva educational sub-district bagged the overall championship in the Ernakulam district school youth festival held at the Government Girls High School, Perumbavoor, for the last four days.

The champions scored 259 points. Ernakulam was the first runner-up with 255 points and Thripunithura the second runner-up with 222 points.

Anjana Babu from Nirmala EMHS, Aluva, was adjudged the Kalathilakam while Jayakrishnan from VHS, Kalady, became the Kalaprathibha.

The following are the first prizewinners in some of the high school events that took place on the last day of the festival today:

Chendamelam: Midhun K.M. (CRHS, Kuttipuzha).

Light Music (Boys): Bibin T.G. (St. Sebastian's HSS).

Light Music (Girls): Alphonsa Raju (St. Antony's HSS, Kacheripady).

Classical Music (Boys): Manikantan M.M. (GHSS, Mookkannoor).

Ganamela: Archana P. Sarathy and party (St. Teresa's CGHSS, Ernakulam).
