District school youth fete from today

PATHANAMHITTA, JAN. 11. The seventh District Higher Secondary Schools' Youth Festival will begin at the Government Higher Secondary School at Kalanjoor, near Konni, tomorrow.

According to the school Principal, K. Jalajamony, over 1,500 students from 60 higher secondary schools in the district would participate in the three-day youth festival that concludes on January 14.

The Transport Minister, R. Balakrishna Pillai, will inaugurate the youth fete at 10 a.m. tomorrow. The local MLA, Adoor Prakash, will preside over the inaugural function.

The noted playback singer, G. Venugopal, will inaugurate the arts festival and the serial artiste, M.R. Gopakumar, will be the chief guest.
