Silver shoots up, gold firm
MUMBAI,
JAN. 12.
The rising trend in silver continued to be unabated on the bullion market here today as the metal surged further to close at an all time high of Rs. 10,155 a kg due to thin supply after a steep rally in global prices. Gold also firmed up further on increased buying activity after a sharp rise in the overseas prices.
Standard gold (99.5 purity) also started steady at Rs. 6350 (10 gm) and firmed up in line with the general trend, before ending at Rs. 6370 against the last weekend close of Rs. 6350. PTI
